Augustus (オーガスタス Ōgasutasu?) is a specter and the foster grandfather of William. After he lost his contract with Stagnate he created a new one with Gracefeel and became something akin to a herald of hers to continue to protect the seal of the High King.

Appearance[]

Augustus is a specter with white hair and blue eyes. He was previously human before he died and made a contract with Stagnate to return as an undead.

Personality[]

He is harsh and rude to everyone but cherishes his friends and family. Deep down Gus wants nothing but knowledge which lead him to have no attachment to his old body. His pride as a sorcerer tends to overwhelm his sense of humility forcing himself to act like a haughty old man. Because of their contract with Stagnate, he tends to be concerned for his old companions thus forcing him to eliminate any source that would harm their attachment, William is one of those sources. He's always rude to William but never once did he hate him later he sees him as a grandson he never had.

Background[]

Augustus was known as the Wandering Sage.

Summary[]

The Boy in the City of the Dead[]

After the defeat of Stagnate, Gracefeel offered Augustus an extension to his afterlife contract, which was about to expire due to Stagnates absence. Only Augustus accepted the extension while the two others chose thier lifeforces to be recycled back into the normal life cycle of death and rebirth.

The Lord of the Rust Mountains[]

To be added later.

Abilities[]

Words of Creation : He able to perform multicast in short time using Words of Creation without any problem, his massive amount of knowledge allows him to unleash a combination of magic barrage against his enemies as evidenced when he unleashing multiple magic against Stagnant's Echo and Will during his Trial.

Tactician : As a wandering sage, Gus possessed a massive amount of knowledge that allows him to devise a strategy that allowed his companion to assassinate The High King albeit flawed due to the unpredictability of The High King itself. He also was the one that was responsible for planning to assassinate Will during his trial.

Trivia[]

While performing a song for Will and the newly formed party, Robina referenced an adventure of the three heroes where they awarded a human boy and half-elf girl with an enchanted blade and a sum of money. Augustus used his true name as a way for them to recognize each other in case they happened to meet each other later in life, musing the gift as an investment. Lifetimes passed and the half-elf girl out grew her companion, but she still holds out for hope of one day returning the gifted blade to the heroes, or if not, at least anyone that may recognize the story and Gus's true name.
