Ethelbald proves to be a capable ruler, and good administrative skills
however, although at first glance he seems like a sensible intelligent man who thinks and pranela, but this proved to be a mistake, when he had contact with the protagonist he threatened to kill him, and stated in front of him that he could create a false rumor covering his death
he actually proves to be not very smart and arrogant, that he underestimates his opponents and doesn't know how to evaluate himself, as it was simply easy for willian to take his life, besides not paying enough attention to how great was the confidence in the citizens in the protagonist, not even realizing how lucky he was since the protagonist had good morals
despite this he actually shows something that cares about his people, doing what he thinks is best for them (although he doesn't show to care about those who aren't your people)
